Blockchain Hack 2018

Do you have ideas about how to use blockchain to improve the public sector? Welcome to join Blockchain Hack 2018. The hackathon runs from lunch 24th to 25th as part of the conference Offentliga Rummet in Sweden, Gothenburg.

Blockchain hack brings together citizens interested in engaging with blockchain technology to build the future of public sector. This hack provides consultants, students, experts, coders, designers, and anyone interested in blockchain opportunities to realise their blockchain project.

The hackathon runs from lunch 24th to 25th. The purpose is to develop an early prototype or idea to support one of the thematic tracks of Offentliga Rummet.

The hackathon is entirely distributed and virtual. Hackathon is open to all, but ideas will be pre-screened to guarantee they are suitable for the themes. The winning team will be declared also at a session in Offentliga rummet.

The event is organised and coordinated by the University of Gothenburg Blockchain Lab and Juho Lindman

Juho Lindman is the director of University of Gothenburg Blockchain Lab and associate senior lecturer of informatics in the department of Applied nformation Technology in University of Gothenburg University, IT Faculty.

Jury

  • Adrian Solitander, Vinnova (jury chair)
    Adrian Solitander is programme manager at the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems Vinnova, focusing on public sector innovation. He holds an M.Sc. in Political Science and an MA in Digital Media Management.
  • Johan Magnusson, University of Gothenburg
    Dr. Johan Magnusson is associate professor of information systems at the department of applied IT. He is head of the division of information systems and co-director for the Swedish Center for Digital Innovation. He is active as both researcher and as advisor for government and the private sector.
  • Fredrik Berglund, Chalmers Innovation
    Fredrik Berglund, PhD, works as an Innovation Advisor at Chalmers Innovation Office, guiding researchers during their first steps towards utilization and potential commercialization - utilizing his knowledge from automotive, aerospace and IT industry.
  • Julie Améen, CGI
    Julie is passionate about driving business development with Information Technology as the driving force, but also claims that a far-sighted leadership in combination with curiosity are key components to reach successful innovation in an organization. She has 20 years’ experience in the IT industry and has a strong passion in contributing to the transformation that now creates the future of a smart society. As Head of Public sector at CGI, she has a great understanding of the drivers and challenges that exist in public sector.

Prize

Innovation acceleration by industry and sector experts and Vinnova to help the winning team advance towards implementation. In the accelerator the winning team will receive:

  • sparring and peer support
  • access to skills, practical tools and operating models
  • a committed community that assists the team
